I have been and probably will always use Firefox. It just has a lot of features I really like.

I am not sure but I have heard that it will load faster if the server is near you. Again I have no idea if this is true.

There are numerous scripts including cpanel that will do backups for you. Just do one every other day or every weekend. This will give you less worry.
