    Operating System

I'm just curious. What operating system are you using? Is anyone utilizing Google Chrome? I know there were problems with that one, but after a big splash, I haven't heard much about it. What about Vista? Any better than when it first came out? What OS are you using?

    Domain appraisals

I've never used these sites before, but a quick search found: http://www.swiftappraisal.com/ http://estibot.com/ http://www.domainsappraisal.com/ I'm sure one of them should be able to get you the information you need. I didn't even know this was an available service. Good luck!

    Reselling domain names

I don't think there's much advantage to building a site if you're sole intention is to sell the domain name. What you use the site for is normally not what the buyer wants it for. They aren't after your content, just the name. You may have purchased a name because it's a nickname or sounds...

    Check your website's popularity.

Wow! I know this is an old post, but this site is new to me, and I found it fascinating to input my websites and see what popped up in the search engines. That's really cool. Thanks for sharing it!

Get Free Members to your Forum!

It reminds me of the concept of blog rolls, which I'm not sure really works at all. People don't follow through by adding a person's blog, etc. It's really a great concept, though, but it would require a lot of dedication in my opinion.

    Forum or blog site?

In truth, it depends on what you're goal is. If you want a lot of interaction and active participation from your readers, then the forum seems like the way to go. If you're looking just to share your finds, opinions, or whatever and just to allow comments or remarks, then the blog is...

    Your Browser of Choice?

I have never, ever liked Internet Explorer. The look and layout never appealed to me. I always preferred Netscape, and when that became unsupported, I switched over to Firefox. I like it a whole lot better than IE, and I think it's safer, too, since IE is still the browser that most hackers...

    Summer trips

Nope. Unfortunately, with the economy being the way it is, I'll be relaxing at home and not traveling. I have plenty to do and can relax just as easily here. It's not that I wouldn't like to travel somewhere, it's just not financially viable for me right now. For those you are traveling, be...

    Backups for shared hosting

Re: Backups Is doing a backup as simple as going to the FTP and then downloading what is there to our own computers? I backup all of my files for my websites, but as far as the server itself goes, I'm not sure what is involved in that, which is why I ask if just downloading whatever other...

    Is unlimited hosting a lie

I would need to know the specifics of the sites you're talking about. I would think you'd have to look at the terms and conditions. I don't think it's impossible, but there are probably some limits in place that aren't spoken about here.

    Website marketing

I'm interested in the comments as well. I know I would have to use SEO quite a bit. I wouldn't have money to advertise, either. I would have to rely on word of mouth and good search hits. Forums are a great way to advertise, too, on sites that allow that kind of thing.

    Your own website

At the moment, I have my blog that is a combination of personal and business, and then I have several personal websites that are devoted to different interests, like favorite TV shows of mine. I am in the process of considering a new business website for a small, at-home business, but have not...

    Character Encoding

Thanks for the reply, and I hope others who are 'in the know' respond with their insights, too. I have just found this transition that has happened in just the last few months to be very annoying. Instead of quotation marks, I now see question marks. So, depending on what character encoding...

    Domain Name Value

That is so true and by the reverse, if someone is interested, there may be a good reason for it. I had a friend who purchased a domain a few years ago and never really did anything with it. It's a catchy phrase though that she used for it. Now, someone has a product to sell and wants that...

    Domain specification .info

Info domains are for informational type of websites. They've had some problems in the past but are on a little bit of a rise, from what I've read. Actually, from what I've seen, too. Like you, I'm running across more of these domains lately that do indeed have some valuable information on them.
