    Your web hosting provider?

There is no such thing like an unlimited hard disk. E.g. ask them how they do backups. And when they use 1000 GB drives they use cheap and slow ones :)

    best webhost

Re: hi guys There is no top web host - there are just hosts who suit your needs (e.g. dedicated, vps, shared hosting or specific needs for databases or certain versions or service levels or...) and hosts who don't. And as everyone has different needs.... :)

    Other registrars other than GoDaddy?????

I manage many domains for myself and for customers, over the years I have used nearly every big registrar and transferred domains between all of them - never had so many problems as with Godaddy. Transferring a domain away from them is a real pain...

Do you buy your domains plural too?

It all depends how important the domain and project will be for you. If very important I always register plurals and also the variants with hyphens.

    Releasing a domain name

A registrar is a site like www.enom.com or www.register.com where you buy domains. Even if you buy through your webhost he will buy it through a registrar. Go to the site of your registrar, login with your username/password (not the Cpanel one :)) and change it there. Where have you bought...

    Releasing a domain name

Go to the registrar of the domain, there should be a checkbox like "Registrar-Lock Do not allow this name to be transferred to another registrar." If this checkbox is active he is not able to transfer the domain to a new registrar. Simply deactive it.

    Backups for shared hosting

Every serious host makes backups but never rely on the backups of your host! Sometimes backups don't work or maybe they get out of business leaving you alone with a non working site! Always make backups yourself or use a second reliable company for backups!
