Wordpress as any Content Management System have its PROs and Cons.

PROS:

  • Price (it is free and open source)
  • Easy way to run a site
  • It is easy to post and update content
  • Pretty easy to configure and customize
  • Have full control of your site
  • Can extend look and functionality by using plugins
  • Many themes (to use free but if want more will have to pay)
  • It is SEO friendly
CONS:

  • If want a better theme or plugins you should buy the Pro/Paid version
  • Some plugins or themes can mess up the code
  • Security (may be approved by using certain plugins, but can mess some settings)
  • Will have to digg into code to tweak the thing to work as you want
  • Using large number of plugins increases server requests and slows the site.
FINAL SCORE:

I’m using it and will continue using wordpress, it is a great for running blogs and very easy to use.

WordPress has been around since 2003 and is currently the most popular content management system (CMS) in the world. Over 60% of all websites are built on WordPress, including some of the biggest brands in the world, such as The Guardian, Forbes, and The New York Times. While this makes WordPress an attractive target for hackers, it's also a testament to its stability and security.
Whether you love or hate WordPress, there's no denying that it's a powerful platform with a ton of features and plugins to choose from. If you're comfortable with coding, you can customize WordPress to do just about anything you want. Or, if you're not comfortable with coding, there are plenty of themes and plugins available that will help you get your website up and running in no time.
